A little bit of love AND hate Labor Day Weekend in Montauk

It was last official weekend of the summer. 

Two notable things happened:

LOVE: I found myself standing in line behind Kelly Slater for coffee. My heart was beating so fast that it nearly popped out of my body. We got our coffee and then left to eat breakfast. After Kelly was done with his coffee he walked by us while we were eating outside with his adopted chihuahua/pincher mixed puppy. It was like seeing a unicorn jump over a rainbow.

(and no, I did not bother him for a photo or an autograph)

This is the doggie. He posted a pic on this twitter.

I mean...

HATE: I was issued a ticket for surfing at Montauk Point State Park near the parking lot and I wasn't even carrying a surfboard. I am going to ask for the case to be dismissed.

Yesterday, it rained in the early afternoon, so we hit Melet Mercantile, Montauk...
The store is very well curated, but nonetheless ridiculously expensive. For example, I saw a bag I have that my cousin bought for me in Tulum selling for $118... I am sure he spent no more than $30. Totally worth a go see and visually inspiring.

Now for the eating portion of our day...We hit South Edison which is truly becoming my favorite restaurant in Montauk. $1 oyster Happy Hour until 5pm and a tasty bloody mary. Their house bloody includes a Jonah's crab claw garnish.

Last night, we decided to BBQ some hot dogs. We put 8 by the grill and turned our heads for a minute... the next thing you know 7 of them were gone and Ms. Panda was licking her lips!
